MARLBORO, MA ─ April 15, 2010 – Data Translation today announced the DT9837B ultra-high throughput USB data acquisition module for portable noise and vibration measurement. The highly accurate front-end design of the USB-powered DT9837B allows users to simultaneously sample up to four 24-bit, IEPE sensor inputs at a sampling rate of up to 105.4 kHz samples per channel.
This rugged small module is self-powered via the USB connection to a PC or laptop, no external power supply is needed, making the DT9837B ideal for portable sound and vibration field measurement and analysis applications. In addition, four modules can be triggered simultaneously for perfectly synchronized measurements on up to 16 input channels.
"The DT9837B offers previously unachievable accuracy with a 4mA excitation current source for each channel, allowing the use of accelerators double the span," states Fred Molinari, President and CEO. "Additionally, our tachometer input design is based on a maximum frequency of 1MHz and a minimum pulse width of 0.4 µs, resulting in greater reading flexibility and more accurate rotary measurements, all achieved while still fully operating off portable USB power."
